BIOGRAPHY

Alan's research focuses on the sustainability of telehealth services, examining the role of standards, guidelines, and socio-technical codes. He has published a book, Healthcare Technology in Context: Lessons for Telehealth in the Age of COVID-19, which explores telehealth services in Australia and Brazil.

With twenty years of experience in both the public and private sectors, Alan has led numerous initiatives to improve healthcare access through ICT. He is the Chair of the Standards Australia IT-014-20 Telehealth Management sub-committee and the Convenor of the ISO/TC215 Health Informatics Taskforce on Telehealth and Virtual Care.
